During the past month of October MAXAM signed an agreement to initiate the constitution of a joint venture with two Chinese partners with whom they’ve held a strong commercial relationship since over ten years ago. This joint venture will be dedicated to the manufacturing and commercialization of civil explosives and initiation systems for the sectors of mining, quarries and constructiopm of infrastructures inside the Chinese market.
MAXAM’s arrival to China consolidates their global presence, an important development, along with a new project, that emphasizes MAXAM’s economic strength and efficiency when facing the financial crisis scenario that the actual international markets are going through.
China is one of the world’s biggest mining markets and one the countries with a major activity in the sectors of building and infrastructures.
China has a great variety of mining resources distributed all over their territory. The major mining areas are found in the south of Manchuria, the peninsula of Liadong and the higher lands of the south.
Amidst the minerals, we have to draw our attention to that of the coal. The Chinese reserves of this mineral are the largest in the world. This high energy potential is enriched by the important reserves that China also holds in petroleum (the second on a worldwide scale), as also in natural gas, uranium and plutonium. We must also point out the valuable deposits of ferrous metals, such as iron, magnesium, vanadium and titanium.
The reserves of the Asian giant known as “rare earth” represent 80% of the worlds. Under this concept you can find chemical elements as diverse as the antimony, basic raw materials for different industrial use. In pharmacies as an antiemetic or in the textile sector to manufacture enamels and varnishes.
The extractive industry has an enormous level of activity in the Chinese market as a result of their high level of activity in the construction field.
Likewise happens with the potential of big projects for the construction of infrastructure means to the construction companies and their suppliers as for the manufacturers of civil explosives and initiation systems.
