MAXAM updates its Corporate Quality Policy
2013.04.03
Press room - News - MAXAM updates its Corporate Quality Policy
In accordance with ISO 9001, and taking the Responsible Care Global Charter and the United Nations Global Compact voluntary agreements into account.
MAXAM has updated its quality corporate policy in order to adapt the company’s standards to the generalized internationalization and performance of the global markets. Its main objective is to employ transparency in order to meet the needs and demands of all stakeholders: investors, shareholders, lenders, customers, suppliers, insurance companies,...
People are the key element in
MAXAM’s new quality corporate. They are the ones that make quality management a reality via communication, participation and teamwork in, and throughout, all of the company’s levels and organizational units.
In the words of José Fernando Sánchez-Junco,
MAXAM’s Chairman and CEO,
“quality is not only a professional obligation, but a personal commitment of all of MAXAM’s employees. All of MAXAM’s companies are involved in the development, implementation and enforcement of the Corporate Policy Quality through the Quality Management System”.
Guiding references: ISO 9001, Responsible Care and the Global Compact
The guiding references for
MAXAM’s corporate quality policy have been the ISO 9001 international standards, as well as the voluntary initiatives which
MAXAM has pledged to follow: the Responsible Care Global Charter and the United Nations Global Compact.
Each center will also take into account the quality management norms that apply to the specific Business Unit to which it belongs.
A Quality Management System
Likewise, in order to guarantee the correct application of this policy,
MAXAM has implanted a Quality Management System that involves process management, customer orientation, both internal and external, and continuous improvement. This system provides tools to measure the levels of quality via key performance indicators (KPIs) and the processing of claims and inaccuracies. Moreover, it includes an external and internal audit plan that ensures its efficacy.
ISO 9001 implantation
The assessment of the company’s compliance with the ISO 9001 requirements is accredited by the BSI, an external organization that periodically issues multisite certifications covering audited
MAXAM’s workcenters, subsidiaries and companies, specifying the specific scope –both in terms of products and related services– of each case. Currently there are 70 certified workcenters and subsidiaries spread across five continents, and the goal is to complete the certification of the company’s subsidiaries’ most important centers –as a reflection of the effective implementation of the management system throughout the Company– by late 2014.
