Press room - News - MAXAM in Russia

MAXAM accompanies H.M. the King of Spain on his trip to Moscow.

MAXAM (formerly known as the Unión Española de Explosivos) is a Spanish company that operates with the latest technology and finest quality at a global level. MAXAM has production facilities in more than 40 countries, and manufactures and supplies products to major mining markets across the world (over 100 different locations). The company has a turnover of nearly € 1.000M, of which over 85% is generated via our international activities.

MAXAM is the European leader, and the world’s second most important company, in the supply of Civil Explosives and Initiation Systems for mining groups, construction companies and infrastructure developers.

In these fields, MAXAM has demonstrated its leadership position by participating in major public works projects, such as the construction of high-speed railway lines over complex landscapes and with extended tunnels stretching across many kilometers (as was the case with the Florence – Bologna line in Italy, and Spain’s Madrid – Valencia and Córdoba – Málaga routes). Likewise, MAXAM has led in the extension of urban subway lines (e.g. Porto, Helsinki), in which the use of explosives products was shown to be the most productive, effective and safe medium by which to execute these major projects. In the field of infrastructure, MAXAM stands out for its work in subaquatic projects (such as the extension of the Panama Canal, the Aswan Dam in Egypt, and the Santos Port in Brazil).

MAXAM is, likewise, the world leader in the production of sport and hunting cartridges. By way of its Defence Business Unit, MAXAM is the European leader in demilitarization processes.
