Terra Solutions - Press Room - News - MAXAM collaborates with Veloo Foundation by improving the living conditions of the most marginalized children of Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia)

MAXAM continues to expand its educational, social and community programs in Mongolia

For the third consecutive year, MAXAM is supporting Veloo Foundation in Mongolia, a local NGO that focuses on improving the living conditions of some of the most vulnerable children in Ulaanbaatar.

MAXAM has been collaborating with Veloo Foundation by supporting the Peak Children’s Sanctuary Project, which provides help and outreach to the children living in Ulaanbaatar’s rubbish dump.

Currently, thanks to MAXAM’s aid, 125 children are attending nursery school with 17 teachers who offer quality education in a warm and comfortable environment. The Peak Children’s Sanctuary also offers library service, a spacious children’s activity area and a special center that protects local children who are being exposed to violence.

A spokesperson of the Veloo Foundation stated: “We are very fortunate to work with companies such as MAXAM which actively promote social responsibility. With this financial assistance, our nursery school is able to operate permanently and also reach out to many more children and their families. Besides, the assistance was not just mere charity but their kindness and thinking of others. Thus, we were able to conduct following programs with sponsors’ monetary and non-monetary helps.”

MAXAM Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

MAXAM believes in a higher standard and going beyond the obligations established by legal precepts in order to always work in a manner that is respectful with the environment and helps local communities flourish and develop. Leading companies must be active members of the societies to which they belong. By always being mindful of these matters, the goal is to guarantee both MAXAM’s individual growth, as well as that of the society where it operates.
